Krautrock is a general category that includes groups like Can, Neu, and others. They're basically like psychedelic rock but more rhythmic, more influenced by funk. The others you might have heard of from their work scoring major films, like Werner Herzog's 70s films and Friedkin's Sorceror. Different more ethereal vibe.
