Hi, I’m Andy Futuro
I write books, compose music, and lead a radically simple life focused on creativity, introspection, companionship, and communion with nature. To furnish the many luxuries my cat demands, I also work as a ghostwriter, editor, and script writer. My client roster includes entrepreneurs, scientists, film studios, tech companies, indie authors, and generally some really cool people.
I will be releasing my full catalogue of work in serial format to Substack. Paid subscribers can read everything here, plus some bonus content. We’re talking completed novels, short stories, and music—no fluff.
I am a firm believer in reader choice, so all of my work will also be available on as many platforms and in as many formats as possible. If you just want to receive updates on new releases and some occasional free content, I’d love to have you as a free subscriber.
To see what you’re getting into, read on. If you’re unfamiliar with how Substack works, I’ve included a brief primer at the end of this spiel.
Cyberpunk Horror
Special Sin is a dark, gritty, and absurd cyberpunk horror series featuring the exploits—or catastrophic fumbles—of tough-as-nails PI, Saru Solan, as she hunts an otherworldly serial killer.
You can read Book 1, No Dogs in Philly, here on Substack for free, starting with the post below, or download the eBook just about anywhere. Book 2, Cloud Country, is coming to Substack starting October 11.
Horror
Or should I call this section “horror horror”? These are horror books without the cyberpaint, perhaps contemporary, perhaps in another world that’s unsettlingly similar to our own but not quite right. You can’t know and I won’t tell you. These are not fun, campy horror books. The goal is to frighten, disturb, and maybe provoke a nervous chuckle as you check your six and make sure the front door is still locked.
I’m releasing my latest book, RUOK?: A Horror Story in Texts, in sections daily until October 7, when the eBook launches. It will be free for everyone until then and afterwards I will paywall it. You can preorder it from just about anywhere for $0.99. Or read it on Substack below.
Electronic Music
I compose freeform electronic music and regularly release new songs to all free subscribers on Substack. Something fun about my music is I see the sounds as a three-dimensional landscape of shapes, colors, peaks, and valleys. The goal of every song is to take you on a journey through this landscape. You can see an example below:
And of course, every song can be streamed or purchased across the panoply of music services.
Dirtbag Literature
Inspired by my many years of hitchhiking, couch surfing, living in tents, and taking incredibly stupid risks, these books follow characters opting out of civilization in search of a greater meaning. Sometimes they find it at the bottom of a rye bottle or the top of a mountain, and sometimes there’s nothing to find. Think beatniks in an internet age, wanderers, seekers, and people who’d just rather party in the woods than be able to afford a car payment.
(Coming Soon to Substack)

Here’s some proof of my dirtbag bona fides:
Follow me, why not?
I keep my newsletter to content that I hope will be worth your precious time and money—and updates on new content. But if you’re interested in a more freeform experience you can follow me on Substack Notes, where I talk shop with my fellow authors, opine on reality TV, and just shoot the shit.
